Techniques used
Working in continuous spiral rounds, magic ring, chain, single crochet, increases, invisible decreases, colour changes and colourwork. The pattern uses the yarn under technique, with sewing, face shaping and nose embroidery to finish the project.
Required materials
- Plush, velvet or chenille yarn, size 5 or 6. The original sample uses Premier Yarns Parfait Chunky: Cream (#1150-07), Teddy Bear (#1150-36) and Chocolate (#1150-35). Allow approximately 120 metres (131 yards) for one red panda.
- 4.00 mm crochet hook.
- 12 mm safety eyes.
- Polyester fiberfill stuffing.
- Brown or dark brown cotton or semi-cotton yarn for the nose, such as YarnArt Jeans, Catona or Catania.
- Tapestry needle.
- Scissors and sewing pins.
- Stitch marker or contrasting yarn to mark the beginning of the round.

The pattern is fairly easy to follow. The instructions for the front paws are a little sparse, but the video helps you work it out. The result is really adorable.

Overall a really cute pattern, I just think it's a little unfortunate that most of the guidance pictures don't show the actual product but another one that uses the same pattern with a single color. I had this weird light brown 'gap' between the back feet and the belly, I kept rereading the pattern but I couldn't figure out where I went wrong. I think with pictures using the actual colors it would've been easier.
